But why would you be interested in this job?

If you're someone who thrives in a role where you are driving change, innovation, teamwork, and strategic procurement, this is worth considering.  My client is currently in a period of transformation and change.  Specifically within the Procurement department, they have restructured and created this new Procurement Management role as part of their growth strategy.  With full autonomy and responsibility to create a best-in-class procurement function, this is something to really make your own.

My client prides itself on fostering a culture of growth, safety, respect and sustainability.  I'm seeking a dynamic individual who is eager to contribute to the continued success of the business and be part of a Senior Team, dedicated to pushing boundaries and delivering exceptional results.  If you are driven by a passion for excellence and seeking a rewarding career opportunity please do submit your CV or get in touch for a candidate pack.  (It contains some additional context and information).

Duties and responsibilities

  • The Procurement Manager will lead a team of four and drive transformation within my client's procurement function. You'll be instrumental in evolving their purchasing approach from transactional to strategic, aligning with the overall business growth strategy.
  • The Procurement Manager's primary focus will be to establish a robust procurement function, including a centralised procurement function for key spend areas. (Total spend budget is £34 million).  Beyond day-to-day operations, you'll contribute to shaping the company's strategic direction, leveraging your procurement acumen to influence stakeholders and drive business-wide impact.
  • The Procurement Manager will drive international sourcing strategies, establishing robust frameworks for both direct and indirect products and services (including CAPEX). You will identify and mitigate supply chain risks and deliver cost saving opportunities.
  • You'll be responsible for managing suppliers and contracts, optimising supply chains and supporting my client's sustainability objectives, including decarbonisation planning. Additionally, the Procurement Manager will play a crucial role in MRP implementation and rollout, enhancing systems and processes to ensure on-time, in-full delivery.
  • Your knack for data analysis will come into play as you prepare and present reports for senior management, while collaborating cross-functionally to achieve customer service levels and on-time, in-full targets.
